 hat meetups are inviting and spacious opportunities for some deeper\, refl
 ective conversations about Asian literature. Every Asian LitChat carries a
  different theme that we explore together. For some these meetups are an e
 ncouragement to read more books specific to the theme\, for others it's si
 mply a great occasion to discuss books that they've already read and that 
 suit the theme.\nThis time we delve into Short Stories within Asian litera
 ture. Short stories offer small windows into vastly different worlds\, his
 tories\, cultures\, and emotional landscapes – often in just only a few pa
 ges. They can contain an entire world\, while still leaving space for inte
 rpretation\, ambiguity\, and discussion. Let's explore Asian (incl. Asian-
 diaspora) literature through the lens of literary short stories.\nWhat we 
 do during our Asian LitChit\nEvery participant brings 1 to 3 literary Shor
 t Story Books – collections of short stories by one Asian author or books 
 that bundle short stories by several Asian authors. Choose those books you
  have something to share about with other book club members.\nWe spilt up 
 in smaller groups\, in which each gets to talk about at least one of the b
 ooks they bring (more if time allows). What you talk about from or around 
 that book is totally up to you. Others can ask questions about that book a
 nd chime in with their own experiences with the book. And from there\, as 
 a group\, you’re invited to also move into sharing around broader\, deeper
  reflections on Asian Short Stories.\nEach group is very much encouraged t
 o lead their own (open and informal) conversation. There will also be some
  prompts available to help guide and/or deepen the conversation if wished 
 for.\nAll reflections\, insights\, perspectives\, and opinions are valuabl

 ks by authors from an Asian background – including diaspora authors\nfrom 
 all 5 Asian regions – East\, Southeast\, South\, West\, Central.\ncontempo
 rary literary fiction – novels\, short stories\, novellas\, biographical f
