 umptions with Stuart Derbyshire.\nAssociate Professor in the Department of
  Psychology at the National University of Singapore (NUS)\, Stuart has spe
 nt more than three decades studying the mind. His research sits at the int
 ersection of psychology\, neuroscience and some of philosophy's biggest qu
 estions - from consciousness and suffering to what it means to be free.\nW
 hen asked how he decides what is worth saying or sharing\, he often return
 s to a simple filter: “Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?”.\n\nAn ev
 ening when slow bar meets reality check\, we'll unpack what freedom means\
 , and examine how our beliefs about freedom shape how we participate in to
 day's world. Equal parts sharing\, discussion\, and the occasional “wait…
