  Work and Social Policy\, Trinity College Dublin.\nDark Clouds Ahead? Refl
 ections on Major Policy Challenges facing Ireland While Ireland has done w
 ell on many fronts in recent years\, navigating major challenges and achie
 ving enviable economic performance\, there are also dark clouds emerging.\
 nThe presentation will argue that the political establishment faces a comp
 lex set of difficulties in highly contentious areas that are not going awa
 y. These include defence and neutrality policy\, immigration\, reunificati
 on\, climate change\, industrial policy\, infrastructure delays\, the rise
  of the right and more. I will argue that the political and policy leaders
  will have to raise their game in a serious way.
