SUMMARY:Monthly Meetup - August 2026: WordPress MCP: From Talking to Changi
 ng Your Site
LOCATION:Samagata Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 35% · why: lots of
people going\n\nIntroduction\nJoin us for our monthly WordPress Bengaluru
meetup\, an afternoon of talks\, discussion\, and networking with the loc
al WordPress community. This time we are meeting in the heart of Bengaluru
\, on Church Street. Come spend a Sunday afternoon with fellow WordPress f
olks\, trading notes on where AI actually fits into the way we build\, and
leaving with something you can try on your own site the same week.\n\nSpe
aker & Topic\nThis month\, Arun Shenoy\, Senior Software Engineer at Blueh
ost\, takes the stage with "WordPress MCP: From Talking About Your Site to
Changing It".\nMCP\, the Model Context Protocol\, gives AI tools a standa
rd way to talk to an application\, and WordPress now has one of its own. P
air it with the Abilities API\, which describes what a site can actually d
o\, and an assistant stops guessing at your site and starts working with i
t through capabilities you define. Arun will walk through what the WordPre
ss MCP server is\, how the Abilities API decides what an agent is allowed
to touch\, and how the two fit together. Expect a live look at the everyda
y work this speeds up: bulk edits\, content and product updates\, and pull
ing real answers out of your own site instead of digging for them. If you
run a store or build sites for clients\, this is the part where a long aft
ernoon of clicking turns into a short one. Arun will also be honest about
where this is genuinely useful today and where you still want a human in t
he loop.\n\nArun is a Senior Software Engineer at Bluehost. Across five ye
ars of building for the open web he has worked on block themes\, migration
s\, plugin development\, and performance\, mostly on the parts people actu
ally touch rather than the parts they read about. A lot of that work now r
uns through AI\, though the interesting question was never whether a model
can generate a site. It is what happens on the second edit\, when someone
wants to change one thing and keep everything else exactly as it was. Tha
t gap is where he spends his time. He contributes to WordPress\, mentors\,
and speaks at community events. Away from work\, he plays badminton\, cri
 cket\, and the violin.\n\nAgenda\n\n3:00 PM: Doors open & networking\n3:15
