uction\n\n7:00pm: 🗣️ Afzal Muhammad: Building Reliable Workflow in Golang
Using DBOS\n\nDBOS (https://www.dbos.dev/) is a new framework to develop r
eliable workflows (or durable executions) on the cloud in a very easy way.
To build a reliable workflow we usually need a mixture of idempotency\, r
 estart exactly from failure point\, exactly-once processing\, observable q
ueues\, and other features. Using traditional methods like AWS Lambda or S
tep Functions can get you only so far\, before your system starts to becom
e very complex and costly! DBOS provides all these features foundationally
though a system design innovation done at MIT which keeps complexity at b
ay and cost to only what you use.\nThe Golang SDK was recently released an
d I would like to show how to build workflows using the SDK.\n\n7:40pm: Ra
ffle and Break\n\n8:00pm: 🗣️ Charles Forsyth: Speaking More Fluently in Go
\n\nI'd written a complete web application for language learning\, designe
d by a language teacher. The back-end was C with EntityFramework\; the fro
nt-end was Vue.js/JavaScript. On the road to Damascus (well\, train to New
castle for a Go meet-up) suddenly I decided to convert the backend to Go.
I discuss how I approached that\, did it\, and the successful result\, whe
re the new system replaced the old without anyone noticing\, including the
  front-end (except it was faster).\n\n8:30pm: Raffle Winners!\n\n9:00pm: P
