 ate convention. As Oscar Wilde observed\, “Disobedience\, in the eyes of a
 nyone who has read history\, is man’s original virtue.”\n\nBut is that rea
 lly true\, or does transgression only become admirable when history happen
 s to favour the victor?\nAt this Brisbane meetup\, we’ll explore whether t
 ransgression is a source of wisdom\, creativity\, and progress\, or whethe
 r civilizations ultimately depend upon restraint more than rebellion.\n\nT
 he questions we will address are:\n\n1. Can transgression reveal truths th
 at obedience never could?\n2. Do societies become stronger by encouraging 
 transgression or by suppressing it?\n3. When does rebellion become decaden
 ce?\n\nThis event will be held at The Osbourne Hotel in Fortitude Valley.\
