SUMMARY:Failure Stories: Lessons From What Didn’t Work
LOCATION:Work Club Olderfleet
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 40% · why: lots of
people going\n\nEntrepreneurship is full of failure.\nMost people just do
n’t talk about it.\n\nThis event is about changing that.\n\nInstead of sta
ge talks or presentations\, we’ll break into small groups of 6–8 people an
d over some drinks share real stories of things that didn’t go to plan\; b
ad ideas\, failed launches\, wrong turns\, expensive lessons\, and the mom
ents where things felt like they were falling apart.\n\nWe're grateful to
Udara Fernando for generously hosting us in his space. Udara is a Melbourn
e-based entrepreneur behind a portfolio of businesses — Tamed Marketing (a
  marketing agency)\, Tactik (a web design agency)\, and Locionne (a six-fi
gure ecommerce brand). He's passionate about building a place where people
can come together to collaborate and learn\, which is exactly what makes
his space such a fitting home for this. Check him out: https://www.linkedi
 n.com/in/udara-fernando/\n\n5:00pm Drop In for a Drink\n7:00pm Hard Stop\n
(We'll head for a drink at Valhalla Bar next door if conversations are flo
wing)\n\nBecause failure is normal.\nAnd the faster we normalise it\, the
faster we learn.\n\n💬 How the night works\nAfter a short introduction\, we
’ll split into small groups.\nEach person who wants to participate will ha
ve the opportunity to share a short story about a failure or setback they’
ve experienced while building something.\n\nFor example:\nA business idea
that completely flopped\nA launch that went sideways\nA decision that turn
ed out to be wildly wrong\nA moment where you realised something wasn’t wo
rking\nAfter each story\, the group can ask questions\, reflect\, or share
similar experiences.\n\nYou don’t have to speak if you don’t want to. Lis
tening is valuable too.\n\n🤝 Creating a safe space\nFor this event to work
\, we need to create a space where people feel comfortable being honest.\n
That means:\nNo judgement\nNo interrupting\n• No unsolicited advice unless
someone asks for it\nWhat’s shared in the group stays in the group\n\nThe
goal isn’t to impress anyone.\nIt’s to learn from each other’s experience
s.\n\n👀 Who this is for\nEntrepreneurs and Doers\nPeople thinking about st
arting something but not sure how\nBuilders who know the real journey isn’
t a straight line\nIf you’ve ever had something fail and learned from it\,
you’ll fit right in.\n\nMost successful entrepreneurs have a long list of
things that didn’t work.\nThose stories are usually the most valuable one
 s to share.
