  Lantau Island\n\nDifficulty Level: 3\nDistance: 19 km\nTime: 6 hours\n\nD
 escription: This hike has a steady rise in elevation. The views along the 
 way are spectacular. We'll see the reservoir and outlying islands in the d
 istance and then immerse ourselves in the forest as we meander upwards to 
 the Big Buddha. The first half of the hike is natural earth and the other 
 half consists of wooden and concrete stairs. The very last part of the pat
 h is paved and flat.\n\nSome highlights: Along the way we'll pass by the S
 hek Pik Reservoir\, the Wisdom Path and the Big Buddha. This hike is rocky
  as we navigate upwards to the Big Buddha and many stairs going downwards 
 towards the Tung Chung MTR station.\n\nWhat to bring:\n\n3-4 liters of wat
 er\nSnacks to eat along the way (sandwich\, fruits\, nuts\, etc)\nHiking s
 hoes with good support\nSunglasses\nHeadgear (cap/hat)\nSunscreen\nBug Spr
 ay\nIn case of Rain: plan accordingly\n\nToilets: There are at least 2 toi
 lets along the way.\n\nStores: Let's have a quick lunch at Ngong Ping. The
 re are several restaurants and cafes at Ngong Ping (Big Buddha) selling dr
 inks and snacks.\n\nMeeting Point: Central Pier 6 (Central to Mui Wo in La
 ntau Island). NOTE: If your plan is to meet us at the Mui Wo Ferry Termina
 l in Lantau Island\, we'll see you at around 10:30/45 am.\n\nTime: 9:40 am
