  and the lower Ballard area.\nWe will discover some lovely Seattle city pa
 rks\, Magnolia Manor Park and Lawton Park before we go through the Kiwanis
  Memorial Park Preserve Park\, which\, by the way\, was Seattle's first wi
 ldlife sanctuary and once the largest nesting colony of Great Blue Herons.
 \nLeaving the preserve\, we will explore the fish ladders at the Chittende
 n locks. There should be some good fish viewing as the salmon run is in fu
 ll swing. Departing the locks we will enjoy the Carl S. English Jr. Botani
 cal Garden.\nAfterwards\, we will visit a few of the many wonderful free e
 xchanges in Ballard. (feel free to bring a toy or craft to donate to the c
