The Co tswolds were declared an area of outstanding natural beauty in 1966.\n\nWe will be visiting two villages and a town\, all very pretty with houses ma de of local stone\, old churches with streams and all on the edge of the s urrounding countryside.\n\nTetbury\nAs one of the best-preserved and most stylish market towns in the southern Cotswolds. It started as the site of an ancient hill fort. In the middle ages\, it prospered as a wool town\, i t is now the antiques capital of the Cotswolds with 25 specialist shops. T he high street also has plenty of shops selling local produce. Just outsid e the town is Highgrove House\, the home to King Charles III.\n\nCastle Co mbe\nIs a quintessentially English village which is often voted the 'prett iest village in England'. It is quite a small village\, with its cluster o f Cotswold Stone cottages and lack of modern buildings – no new houses hav e been built in the centre of the village since about 1600. The view by th e river bridge is a famous picture postcard scene. It has appeared in may T.V shows and films\, including the 1967 film 'Doctor Dolittle' and the 20 11 film 'War Horse'.\n\nLacock\nIs a spectacularly preserved medieval vill age\, almost entirely owned by the National Trust. There are no overhead w ires or modern store fronts\, making it feel like you've stepped back in t ime and making it an instant movie set. It has two 600 year old pubs and a fantastic abbey\, which was used in the Harry Potter films. It was also f eatured in T.V productions of Pride & Prejudice\, Emma\, Cranford and Down ton Abbey.\n\nCoach seating\n\nIf you wish to reserve a seat on the coach in advance\, after you pay please look at the seating plan in the photos h ere and then email me - general@cultureseekers.org\, with the seat number/ s you wish to reserve.
