SUMMARY:Ruby + AI meetup
LOCATION:55 Rue d'Amsterdam
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 30% · why: lots of
  people going\n\nSpecial Edition — Ruby + AI\nAI can generate Ruby code. T
he harder skill is learning how to work with it well.\nFor this special ed
ition\, ParisRB.new and AI Tinkerers Paris are joining forces at Algolia f
or an evening combining technical talks\, hands-on practice and the exchan
ge of AI coding best practices.\nThe goal is to develop the skills that no
w matter when coding with AI: providing the right context\, breaking down
tasks\, choosing between one or several agents\, reviewing generated code\
, testing it properly and identifying solutions that look convincing but a
re wrong.\nLanguage\nThis event will be held in English. French-speaking s
upport will be available during the workshop and informal discussions for
anyone who needs it.\nWhat to expect\nThe evening will have three parts:\n
Short technical talks about real Ruby\, Rails and AI projects\nA hands-on
workshop based on Paris Ruby Workshop katas\nOptional demos and discussion
s about the methods\, successes\, failures and lessons discovered during t
he workshop\nDuring the talks\, we encourage you to ask speakers practical
questions about their workflows:\nWhich tools and model versions do they
use?\nHow do they prepare context and project instructions?\nWhen do they
use one agent or several?\nHow do they test and review generated code?\nWh
ich tasks do they still prefer to handle themselves?\nWhat failure modes d
o they encounter most often?\nYou can then test their practices during the
workshop or compare them with your own approach.\nSchedule\n19:00 — Welco
 me\n19:10 — Introduction\nPresentation of the meetup\, communities\, partn
ers and available katas.\n19:30 — AI Coding Practices: Lightning Talks and
Q&A\nLearn from real development workflows. Participants who prefer to st
art building immediately may begin their kata in parallel.\n20:15 — Ruby +
AI Workshop\nWork individually or in a small group using your preferred A
I coding setup. Pizza\, beer and soft drinks will be served.\n20:45 — Opti
onal Demo Preparation and AI Feedback\n21:00 — Selected Demos: What Worked
 \, What Failed\, What We Learned\n21:25 — Goodies and Networking\nContinue
exploring other participants’ experiments and exchange best practices dir
ectly with their builders.\n22:00 — End of the event\nJoin the workshop\nB
ring your laptop and use the AI coding tool of your choice: Codex\, Claude
Code\, Cursor\, GitHub Copilot or any other setup.\nBefore arriving\, we
recommend:\n\nconfiguring your preferred AI coding tool\;\nchecking any re
quired API access or credits\;\nmaking sure your development environment w
orks.\n\nYou can work individually or with other participants. You do not
need to be an AI expert\, and presenting a demo is entirely optional.\nTur
n your experiment into a useful demo\nIf you want to share what you learne
d\, two AI coaches will be available:\n\nOur technical feedback agent will
help you improve the technical content of your presentation.\nSpeakli wil
l help you practise your delivery and explain your work more clearly.\n\nT
he most instructive demos will be invited to present their methods on stag
e and will receive goodies.\nA completed solution is not required. An unex
pected failure\, a rigorous testing method or a smart way to guide an agen
t may teach the room just as much.\nParticipants who do not present on sta
ge can still share their setups\, results and best practices during the ne
 tworking session.\nAbout ParisRB.new\nBonjour et bienvenue à toutes et à t
