 l.\n\nOver the last seven months we have covered the Medieval\, Early Mode
 rn and Georgian periods.\n\nNow\, we turn our attention to the Victorian E
 ra. This month we are exploring Victorian Ambition and in September we wil
 l indulge ourselves in the glory of Byzantine architecture\, a hallmark of
  Late Victorian Bristol.\n\nOur tour this week will focus on the harboursi
 de and we will explore the maritime heritage of the city as it boomed in t
 he eighteenth century after the building of the Floating Harbour.\n\nWe wi
 ll\, of course\, talk about Brunel and his impact on Bristol. We will lear
 n about the arrival of goods from all over the world and how these drove t
 he prosperity that allowed the city to grow. We will seek out the magnific
 ent buildings that went along with all of this.\n\nAfter our Monday walks 
 we always take coffee in a local cafe. Today we will be at the Arnolfini.\
 n\nA set of historical research notes will be emailed out to walkers after
  our walk. This will allow you to hold on to what you have picked up from 
 our exploration of Victorian Ambition in Bristol.\n\nA Walk in the Past is
  a friendly group where regulars and newcomers are always welcome. Our aim
  is to combine a good walk with pleasant company in historic landscapes.
