SUMMARY:Writers Work Session @ Green Lake Park
LOCATION:Green Lake Park (Community Center)
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 18% · why: lots of
people going\n\nJoin us at the picnic tables with notebook\, tablet\, or
laptop\, and write!\n\nWe're at Green Lake Park every Wednesday through th
e summer\, every other week of which we'll be taking advantage of the nice
weather to get some writing done outdoors. At the end of the writing sess
ion we'll probably take some time at the end to share from among what was
produced.\n\nAs always\, the Proton Drive can be used to exchange document
s digitally.\n\nSeattle Poetry Meetup is a proud founding member of the We
stern Washington Poets Network - check out their database of open mics and
critique groups in the area.\n\nVENUE\n\nWe'll start at the picnic tables
east of the Community Center on the east side of Green Lake Park. We may
relocate to the grass or elsewhere nearby depending on people's preference
.\n\nTRANSIT\n\nBus: your best options are probably the 45 and 62 which pa
ss immediately east of the park and require basically no walk\; the E line
runs just west of the park and though it requires a bit of a hike it's pl
easant walking along a paved path. See also Seattle Transit Map.\nLight Ra
il: Roosevelt Station on the 1-Line is a 15 minute walk away coming from t
he east. See also Seattle Transit Map.\nCycling: Green Lake Park is encirc
led by a separated bike path which connects via Greenlake Dr. N to the nor
thwest\, NE Ravenna Blvd to the east\, and Green Lake Way N to the south.
See also the official Bike Map.\nCar: SR-99 is immediately west\, and Gree
n Lake Park and Ride and I-5 are also close to the east.\n\nPARKING\n\nThe
re is parking at the park\, but in practice rarely is available. Free stre
et parking can be generally found not far from the park. Many shops and re
staurants in the neighborhood also have associated parking for patrons\, a
nd of course there's the Roosevelt Park and Ride.\n\nPROTON DRIVE\n\nWe're
using Proton Drive to share files---no account required. Click here to ac
 cess: https://drive.proton.me/urls/05PJ0BMSSWes3lBdtVcr3y\n\nClick "Upload
" and then "Upload File" to upload an existing file\, or "Create" and then
"New Document" to create a new document from scratch.\n\nIt's helpful if
people organize files for particular event into their own folder with form
at YYYY-MM-DD for example "2025-09-16" for the September 16th\, 2025 meetu
p.\n\nFiles left on the drive will be moved offline to the long-term SPM A
rchive after a month. If you don't want this\, delete your files after the
meetup.\n\nPHOTO CREDIT\n\nPhoto courtesy of user Monikasj on Wikimedia C
