 hort summary\nFriendship is one of those words people use warmly and exami
 ne very badly.\nWe say “my friends.”\nWe say “community.”\nWe say “chosen 
 family.”\nWe say “I’ve got people.”\nBut what do we actually mean?\nCicero
 ’s On Friendship is old\, but the question inside it is still awkwardly al
 ive:\nDo we love our friends for who they are\, or for what they give us?\
 nComfort.\nStatus.\nAccess.\nValidation.\nEntertainment.\nA version of our
 selves we like being around.\nCicero is not writing a modern self-help ess
 ay about “finding your people.” He is asking what friendship is supposed t
 o be when it is serious: loyalty\, virtue\, honesty\, usefulness\, affecti
 on\, moral pressure\, and whether a good friend should make your life easi
 er or make you better.\nThat’s why this one feels worth a room.\nNot netwo
 rking.\nNot sentimental friendship talk.\nNot everyone pretending they are
  a perfect friend.\nA real conversation about what friendship is\, what it
  costs\, and how much of what we call friendship is just mutual convenienc
 e with better branding.\nA few questions already sitting in my head\n\n“Do
  we love our friends\, or the version of ourselves we get to be around the
 m?”\n“Can a friendship survive if it stops being useful?”\n“Should a real 
 friend make you feel accepted\, or tell you when you are becoming worse?”\
 n“Is loyalty still a virtue if your friend is wrong?”\n“What makes adult f
 riendship so hard to maintain?”\n“Do we choose friends by character\, chem
 istry\, shared habits\, or shared illusions?”\n“When does friendship becom
 e dependency?”\n“What would Cicero think of networking culture?”\n\nHow th
 e morning will go\nWe’ll start with one question:\n“What is one thing a re
 al friend should be allowed to tell you?”\nThen I’ll give a short reset on
