  about the Toronto Islands.\nJust minutes from downtown\, the noise of the
  city disappears and is replaced by tree-lined paths\, open green spaces\,
  quiet cottages\, and some of the best skyline views anywhere in Toronto. 
 It feels like you've escaped the city without ever leaving it.\n\nJoin us 
 for a relaxed summer walk across the Toronto Islands as we explore Hanlan'
 s Point\, Centre Island\, and Ward's Island\, enjoying beautiful scenery\,
  fresh air\, and great conversation along the way.\n\nThe Toronto Islands 
 have a fascinating history. Originally connected to the mainland as a long
  sandbar peninsula\, a powerful storm in 1858 permanently separated the la
 nd from Toronto\, creating the islands we know today.\nOver the years they
 've been home to amusement parks\, summer cottages\, and the unique island
  community that still exists today on Ward's Island.\n\nThis is not a form
 al historical tour.\n\nIt's a social walk with beautiful scenery\, fresh a

  What We'll Do\n\nWe'll take the 11:15 AM Hanlan's Point Ferry to the isla
 nds and begin our walk.\n\nOur route will take us through:\n\n🌿 Hanlan's P
 oint\n🌳 Centre Island\n🏡 Ward's Island\n📸 Several incredible skyline viewp
 oints\n🌊 Beautiful waterfront pathways\n\nWe'll stop throughout the walk t
 o enjoy the scenery for a 30mins break\, take photos\, and experience one 
 of Toronto's most unique parks.\nFeel free to bring a snack or something s
 mall to share during one of our breaks.\n\nPlease Note: Although we'll pas
 s several beaches\, we won't be stopping at them during this event. We hav
 e a route to follow and a ferry to catch! Instead\, we'll enjoy our break 
 at one of the islands' spectacular skyline lookout points\, where you can 
 relax\, have a snack\, and take some amazing photos. If you'd rather spend
  time at the beach\, you're welcome to do so after the walk\, but the grou
 p won't be waiting as we continue on our planned route.\n\nOur return ferr
 y will be the 2:45 PM Ward's Island Ferry back to downtown Toronto.\n\nExp
 ect approximately 3½ to 4 hours including the ferry rides and breaks.\n\n\
 n\n☀️ Weather & Expectations\n\nThis event happens in typical summer weath
 er.\nThe islands are often cooler and breezier than downtown Toronto\, so 
 bringing a light sweater is never a bad idea.\nThe only reason we would ca
 ncel is because of severe weather or thunderstorms.\n\nThis is a social wa
 lk—not a guided historical tour. I'll share interesting facts along the wa
 y\, but the focus is enjoying the islands together.\n\n\n\n🧢 Meetup Detail
 s\n\n📍 Meetup Location:\nINSIDE the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal after your 
 ticket has been scanned.\n\nWe are meeting inside the paid waiting area be
 side the washrooms.\nPlease do NOT wait outside the terminal.\n\nOnce your
  ferry ticket has been scanned\, walk into the waiting area and you'll fin
 d me beside the washrooms wearing my Moose Hat.\n\n⏰ Meetup Time: 11:00 AM
 \n🚢 Hanlan's Point Ferry LEAVES AT: 11:15 AM\n\nOnce we board the ferry\, 
 it is extremely difficult for late arrivals to catch up with the group.\n🚢
