 me interesting encounters. There is a lot of emphasis here on psychologica
 l healing\, ego (good and bad)\, 'growing' etc.... All great stuff. But th
 at is not quite the goal of contemplative (mystic) traditions like Buddhis
 m. There are two streams of 'work' in this meditation tradition - developi
 ng good qualities\, and stepping outside of the whole self delusion (Maya)
 . That's the topic tonight!\n\nSpeaker:\nVenerable Pandit has been an orda
 ined Buddhist monk in Thailand since 1996. He has a degree in Psychology a
 nd a MA in Buddhist Studies. His focus is on early Buddhist teachings\, en
 lightenment traditions\, story and fairy tales\, and psychology - all from
  the perspective of a real meditation practice. Expect clear and precise d
 elivery\, and a little humour!\n\n\n\nInviting:\nEveryone is welcome\, fro
 m beginners to experienced meditators. We meet to support and encourage ea
 ch other in our practice. If you are a beginner\, some instructions will b
 e given\; experienced meditators can develop their own practice.\n\n\n\nVe
 nue:\nBaan Aree is a Thai Buddhist Center\, please wear something that is 
 comfortable and modest. It is very close to Ari BTS Station.\n\nEnter thro
 ugh the passage between EXIM building and the gas station. Or enter from t
 he soi behind. (Baan Aree is also the home of Kid Mai Death Awareness Cafe
  - so you can also follow directions for that on G Maps)\n\nAs is usual wi
 th Buddhist teachings\, there is no charge for this event. However\, the L
 ittle Bangkok Sangha follows the Buddhist custom of Dana (generosity). The
  teachings and the venue are offered as an act of generosity\, and those r
 eceiving them can\, if they wish\, support with a donation. These go towar
 ds the teacher’s and venue's costs. Boxes for Dana will be provided.\n\n\n
