 r weekly climbing events. We meet up\, we climb top rope and lead\, we hel
 p and cheer each other on\, and sometimes go out to eat afterwards if the 
 hour is not too late.\n\nNever done rope-climbing before? Then this is pro
 bably not the event for you. Try our Friday events\, which are also at Mes
 a Rim and involve bouldering\, which does not require a certification.\n\n
 Experienced climber\, but new to Mesa Rim? For this event\, we ask that yo
 u are already belay-certified for top rope climbing. That way you can part
 icipate at an equal level. Note that Mesa Rim does not accept belay certif
 ications from other gyms. That said\, if you already know how to belay\, g
 etting certified usually takes 5 minutes at the front desk.\n\n---\n\nPlea
 se also read the below carefully:\n\nFIRST TIME AT MESA RIM?\n\nYou should
  plan to arrive 15 minutes early so you can fill waivers and rent gear if 
 needed\, and also get top-rope certified. If you are new and think you wil
 l be late\, please let the organizer know.\n\nWAITLISTED? While we don't t
 urn anyone away\, as a matter of courtesy you should message one of the or
 ganizers to make sure they can accommodate you.\n\nKEEP YOUR RSVP UPDATED!
