SUMMARY:Grooming Gangs - a Father's story.
LOCATION:THE BRITONS PROTECTION
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 28% · why: lots of
people going\n\nJacob Jones is a campaigner focused on safeguarding refor
m and institutional accountability. Sixteen years ago\, his daughter was a
victim of organised grooming and sexual exploitation in Brick Lane\, Towe
r Hamlets. Only recently did Jacob learn the full extent of what she endur
ed\, including coercion\, drugging\, gang rape\, and severe physical harm.
\n\nThis revelation led him to investigate how such crimes were able to co
ntinue for decades across the UK. Jacob has spent time examining instituti
onal failures\, including how misplaced fears of causing offence or appear
ing discriminatory contributed to silence\, inaction\, and the protection
of perpetrators. He has also studied how\, in some grooming gang trials\,
defendants attempted to justify their actions using religious or cultural
arguments\; claims rejected by many Muslims but nonetheless were still rai
sed in their defence.\n\nSince understanding the full truth of his daughte
r’s abuse and the extent to which institutions failed to protect her. Jaco
b has dedicated himself to exposing systemic failures and advocating for s
afeguarding policies that prioritise children’s safety over political sens
itivities.\n\nCampaigners who raise concerns are frequently ignored\, marg
inalised\, or quietly “cancelled\,” whether subtly or overtly\, and Jacob
has worked to challenge this culture of avoidance and denial. He has writt
en\, spoken\, and campaigned to ensure that no institution\, governmental
or otherwise\, can ignore organised exploitation or conceal the suffering
of victims for political gain.\n\nJacob’s campaign is supported by the Car
eAbout Foundation\, which provides a platform to hold those responsible to
account\, raise awareness of the abuses\, and work towards help and heali
ng for victims and survivors.\n\nwww.careabout.co.uk\n\nJacob welcomes ope
n\, honest dialogue with groups of any size or political persuasion. His w
ork is driven by a commitment to protecting children\, supporting survivor
s\, and ensuring that the UK confronts uncomfortable realities rather than
allowing them to continue in silence.\n\nJoin CCC Manchester for stimulat
ing fresh conversations and free thinking debate. We host speakers from al
l viewpoints who talk on a wide range of current and interesting topics. W
e are a friendly welcoming group who respect all good faith opinions.\n\nG
rab a drink at the bar and come upstairs for some lively\, open and honest
chat.\n\nWe don't charge for our events but we do ask for a small cash do
nation to help pay for expenses.
