SUMMARY:The Foodie Fellowship goes to Glasgow: Chicken Tikka Masala Pilgrim
 age
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 24% · why: lots of
people going\n\nJoin The Foodie Fellowship for a possible low-budget food
ie weekend trip to Glasgow\, Scotland\, on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 Augus
t.\nThe main focus of the trip will be a visit to Shish Mahal\, the Glasgo
w restaurant widely known as the birthplace of chicken tikka masala. Aroun
d this central food pilgrimage\, we will explore Glasgow\, try local Scott
ish cuisine\, and enjoy a relaxed weekend with fellow food lovers.\n\nImpo
rtant: this is an experimental event\nThis event is currently an experimen
tal idea\, not yet a fully confirmed trip.\nWhether or not the trip defini
tively takes place depends on whether enough people sign up and genuinely
commit to joining. The trip will only go ahead if we have at least 4 peopl
e committed to attending one month before the trip dates\, meaning by arou
nd 15 July.\n\nSuggested plan\nThe details below are suggestions\, not the
definitive plan. Once we know who is seriously interested and committed\,
we will decide the final plan together as a group.\nA possible version of
the weekend could look like this:\nSaturday\n\nTravel from the Netherland
 s to Glasgow\, most likely by flight\nCheck into a low-budget hotel\, host
el\, or shared accommodation\nExplore Glasgow city centre or the West End\
nMain dinner at Shish Mahal\, with chicken tikka masala as the highlight o
f the trip\n\nSunday\n\nBreakfast or brunch in Glasgow\nExplore more of th
 e city\, such as Kelvingrove\, the University of Glasgow area\, Merchant C
ity\, or other local sights\nPossibly visit the Glasgow Foodies Festival\n
Try traditional Scottish food\, such as haggis\, neeps and tatties\, Culle
n skink\, Scottish seafood\, or cranachan\nTravel back to the Netherlands
in the evening\n\nBudget\nThe aim is to keep this as a low-budget weekend
trip. We will look for affordable flights\, budget hotels or hostels\, and
reasonably priced food options.\nEveryone will pay for their own:\n\nTrav
el to and from Glasgow\nAccommodation\nFood and drinks\nLocal transport\nA
ny optional activities\n\nOnce we have a small committed group\, we can co
ordinate booking flights and accommodation together so that the trip remai
ns practical and affordable.\n\nWho should join?\nThis trip is for people
who:\n\nLove food and food history\nAre curious about Glasgow\nWant to try
both Indian-Scottish and local Scottish cuisine\nAre open to helping shap
e the final plan together\nAre seriously interested in committing if the g
roup reaches the minimum number of participants\n\nPlease RSVP only if you
are genuinely interested in joining. After we see who is interested\, we
will discuss the details together and decide whether to go ahead.\nLet’s s
ee if we can turn this into a delicious Foodie Fellowship weekend adventur
 e!
