  Melbourne's chemistry labs as part of the Science at Melbourne Festival. 
 We'll get to step inside working research laboratories where scientists ar
 e designing molecules\, reactions and materials to make the world safer\, 
 smarter and more sustainable — everything from lasers and solar panels to 
 microplastics and public health.\n\nThe Faculty of Science says we'll expl
 ore the Polyzos Laboratory\, the Australian Laboratory for Emerging Contam
 inants\, and the Ultrafast and Microspectroscopy Laboratories. It's a grea
 t one if you're at all curious about how chemistry connects to physics\, b
 iology\, maths and medicine — no science background needed\, just an inter
 est in seeing real research up close.\n\nWe'll meet at 6:30pm outside heyt
 ea Melbourne University\, say hi\, then walk over to the Chemistry Buildin
 g together so we arrive in good time for the 7:00pm tour.\n\nThis is a cas
 ual social meetup arranged so we can head along together — it isn't run by
 \, affiliated with\, or endorsed by the University of Melbourne or the Fac
 ulty of Science. Please book your own ticket directly through Eventbrite\;

 om the city. Parking around Parkville is limited\, so public transport is
