n Source Singapore is hosting this evening to discuss the potential for op
en source AI and the innovation that it brings across the region and entir
e globe.\n\nThree talks. Three perspectives.\nOne goal: building better so
ftware with Open Source & AI.\nExplore local AI\, coding agents\, and real
-world product development with the open source community.\n\nAgenda:\n\n6
:30 PM: Registration\n7:00 PM: Welcome and opening remarks\n7:10 PM: Lucas
Eduardo Rainett: How I Repurposed My Gaming Computer Into an AI Server\n7
:30 PM: Quanyi Ma: Git for the Agent Era: Tracking More Than the Final Com
mit\n7:50 PM: Jimmie Wang: Steering AI - Lessons from Building Myfield\n8:
 10 PM: Speaker 4 — TBA\n8:30 PM: Networking\n9:00 PM: End of event\nSpeake
 r 1: Lucas Eduardo Rainett\, Platform Architect\, Fullstack & Cybersecurit
y\nI'll walk through how I turned my gaming PC into a fully self-hosted AI
stack from a first experiment with Home Assistant and Ollama\, to running
Open WebUI\, to my current setup with the Hermes Agent over Matrix. Along
the way I'll cover the open-source tools involved (Ollama\, paperless-gpt
\, local voice control with Whisper/Piper)\, the security architecture pro
tecting it (VPN\, reverse proxy\, OIDC auth)\, and what I learned trying t
o make privacy-respecting tools convenient enough for the non-technical pe
ople in my life.\nSpeaker 2: Ma Quanyi\, Founder of Libra\nAI coding agent
 s can now read issues\, edit code\, run tests\, open pull requests\, and e
ven respond to review comments. Yet most developer workflows still reduce
all that work to a final commit and a CI result. This talk explores what’s
missing in the agent era: how to capture an AI’s context\, tool usage\, f
 ailed attempts\, validation\, and decision-making\, so AI-generated change
 s become reviewable\, auditable\, and trustworthy—not just another diff.\n
Speaker 3: Jimmie Wang\, Founder of Myfield.one\nAI can build products fas
ter than ever—but it can also amplify mistakes\, complexity\, and informat
ion overload. Building Myfield with AI taught me that the real challenge i
sn’t smarter AI\, but staying in control. This talk will share practical l
essons from shipping a real product with AI\, common pitfalls\, and why us
er-owned data is essential for keeping humans—not AI or platforms—in contr
ol. The future isn’t about AI replacing humans. It’s about humans learning
how to steer AI.\n\nOpen Source Singapore:\nOpen Source Singapore (former
ly Free and Open Source Meetup) is a community dedicated to promoting awar
eness\, knowledge-sharing\, and adoption of open source technologies. We b
ring together developers\, enthusiasts\, and industry professionals to exc
hange ideas\, collaborate\, and champion the values of openness\, transpar
 ency\, and innovation in Singapore’s tech ecosystem.\n\nCo-hosted by:\n\nM
 yfield\nLibra\n\nVenue Sponsor:\n\\SQ Collective:\\ A community-first p
remium co-working space in the heart of Robertson Quay. TGB members get sp
 ecial coworking perks discount.\n\nSupported by:\nInnoforge Ventures\nINNO
