 nung Ledang\, or commonly known as Mount Ophir (1\,276m) is the highest mo
 untain in Johor and almost the most climbed mountain there.\n\nThis is a g
 ood step-up hike for those who are looking to progress to tougher hikes af
 ter Gunung Datuk or are training or preparing for Kinabalu/Nepal etc.\n\nW
 ho is this for?\nIt serves as a good training or progressive hike for thos
 e who wish to do more hiking. Most do it as training for other treks\, lik
 e Kinabalu\, or Nepal.\n\nHow tough is it/How fit do I have to be?\n\nIt i
 s twice as long as Gunung Datuk. The trek is around 4-5h up and 3-4h down\
 , making it a total of 9h. The total elevation is around 1\,000m up and do
 wn. It can be quite tiring on your legs.\n\nIt is generally tropical fores
 t trail\, with some rope portions\, ladders and rock faces. It can be quit
 e fun to go through the different terrain with the need to use your hands 
 at some points.\n\nHowever\, if you have done Gunung Datuk before\, the te
 rrain is not that much of a surprise. The tough part is only the duration.
 \n\nThis is good for people who have some level of fitness\, if not it wil
 l be fun for those who are first time in Malaysia!\n\nWhat happens if I am
  slow?\n\nThere is a 1 guide to 7 hikers ratio. There is also a cut-off ti
 ming to the summit\, if you fail to make it you will have to turn back! So
  far everyone I've brought made it =). Do note if you descent past a certa
 in time\, there is a penalty.\n\nHow many pax for the trip to happen?\n\nM
 inimum 12 pax to start the trip!\n\nOnce confirmed\, a Whatsapp group will

 ing MRT\n1.30 – 4am : Transport to Gunung Ledang via Tangkak\n5.00 am : Br
 eakfast at Tangkak\n6.30am : Tangkak – Gunung Ledang National Park\n7.00 a
 m : Arrival @ National Park counter – Registration & Tagging items (checki
 ng in)\n8.00 am : Start climbing to the top\n12.00 pm : Arrive at the peak
  (safety time at the peak until 2.00 pm)\n1.00 pm : Descend back to the ba
 se\n4.30 pm : Arrive at the park\, clear the items and wash up.\n5.00 pm :
  Leave.\n5.00 pm – 8.30pm : Dinner at Tangkak and head to Singapore/Dinner

 ons:\n\n1. How long is the ride to Mount Ophir\n\nA: It takes only around 
 3-4h from Singapore\n\n2. The journey to Ophir only takes 3 hours\, why do
  we set off so early?\n\nA: This is so that we can save money on accommoda
 tion/driver cost/taxi to MRT station. This also means there is a lack of s
 leep\, so try to sleep in the vehicle! Bring a travel pillow!\n\n3. Are th
 ere shower or toilet facilities at the park?\n\nA: Yes there are but basic
 . Expect using a hose/bucket. Please bring a change of clothes and shower 
 when you are down from Ophir. No smelly people in the vehicle!\n\n4. What 
 do I have to look out for?\n\nA: There are mosquitoes and leeches sometime
 s\, depends on the weather.\n\n5. Where is dinner?\n\nWe would have dinner
  in Tangkak at a cheap and nice chinese restaurant\, if there are dietary 
 concerns there are other options around the area also.
