  Artist Program awardee\, Brian Citro has been playing and writing music f
 or 35 years. His new album\, Keep Moving (Home)\, on Calligram Records\, f
 eatures his “lyrical yet modern guitar playing” (Fareed Haque) on 14 origi
 nal compositions performed by his quartet with Nick Mazzarella\, Quin Kirc
 hner\, and Matt Ulery. Recorded to tape by engineer Dave Vettraino at Chic
 ago’s Palisade Studio\, the album presents an “emotionally resonant …conve
 rgence of composition\, performance\, sound\, and visual presentation” (Pa
 ris Move). The music flows from Brian’s experiences as a musician and huma
 n rights lawyer living in India and traveling in Africa\, Asia\, and Latin
  America. His previous album\, Acoustic Pastime\, on ears&eyes Records fea
 tures Brian performing solo guitar arrangements of his compositions and Th
 elonious Monk tunes. Pianist Tom Vaitsas\, a former sideman for legendary 
 saxophonist Von Freeman\, joins the quartet for a series of shows celebrat
 ing the release of Keep Moving (Home). Here\, the Brian Citro Quartet perf
