  people going · good weather for it\n\nWe will read and respond to poetry 
 in excruciating detail. It's fun\, I promise!\n\nWe'll take turns picking 
 a poem for us to read and respond to. Please come with at least one poem t
 hat you are ready to share—whether your own or one from another author. If
  you have nothing to share\, feel free to listen in.\n\nWe will read each 
 poem aloud\, twice if time permits. If desired\, the poem can be shared th
 rough Proton Drive to be shown on a laptop screen or viewed on smartphones
 . Paper copies can also be distributed\, or feel free to just read your po
 em aloud---whatever you prefer works for us!\n\nSeattle Poetry Meetup is a
  proud founding member of the Western Washington Poets Network - check out
  their database of open mics and critique groups in the area.\n\nVENUE\n\n
 We'll start at the picnic tables east of the Community Center on the east 
 side of Green Lake Park. We may relocate to the grass or elsewhere nearby 
 depending on people's preference.\n\nTRANSIT\n\nBus: your best options are
  probably the 45 and 62 which pass immediately east of the park and requir
 e basically no walk\; the E line runs just west of the park and though it 
 requires a bit of a hike it's pleasant walking along a paved path. See als
 o Seattle Transit Map.\nLight Rail: Roosevelt Station on the 1-Line is a 1
 5 minute walk away coming from the east. See also Seattle Transit Map.\nCy
 cling: Green Lake Park is encircled by a separated bike path which connect
 s via Greenlake Dr. N to the northwest\, NE Ravenna Blvd to the east\, and
  Green Lake Way N to the south. See also the official Bike Map.\nCar: SR-9
 9 is immediately west\, and Green Lake Park and Ride and I-5 are also clos
 e to the east.\n\nPARKING\n\nThere is parking at the park\, but in practic
 e rarely is available. Free street parking can be generally found not far 
 from the park. Many shops and restaurants in the neighborhood also have as
 sociated parking for patrons\, and of course there's the Roosevelt Park an

  into their own folder with format YYYY-MM-DD for example "2025-09-16" for
  the September 16th\, 2025 meetup.\n\nFiles left on the drive will become 
 part of the SPM Archive. If you don't want this\, delete your files after 
 the meetup.
