SUMMARY:Stretton Skyline
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 33% · why: lots of
people going\n\nAs a break from the North\, I’m heading south to do the S
tretton Skyline\, a challenging 20-mile circuit round the hills of Church
Stretton\, approximately 1350m/4400 feet ascent. The walk takes in the rid
ges either side of the Stretton Gap and includes Caer Caradoc\, the Lawley
\, Long Mynd and Ragleth hill. If you’ve done the Edale skyline walk with
Dave it’s roughly on a par with height\, distance and time. However\, Chur
ch Stretton is nicknamed ‘Little Switzerland’ due to it’s short\, sharp hi
lls and rugged valleys so scenery wise it’s very different\, but just as d
ramatic.\n\nUnfortunately Dave can’t make this one as he’s at some nuptial
 s (alas not his own😄) so I’m limiting numbers. It’ll be an 8.50am start\,
7pm finish.\n\nChurch Stretton is a lovely town just for browsing and with
Ludlow close by why not make a weekend of it? I’m not putting a walk on t
he Sunday at this point in time\, however the National Trusts Carding Mill
valley is next to Church Stretton and is a great base for walking and swi
mming. There’s lots of straightforward\, shorter walks from the visitor ce
 ntre\, see link.\n\nhttps://www.google.co.uk/search?q=national+trust+cardi
 ng+mill+valley&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safariebo=0\n\nTher’s ple
nty of accommodation around the area though it does get booked up.\n\nStar
 t point Easthope road 2 car park\, Church Stretton SY6 6BQ. Toilets and a
Coop here also.\n\nDisclaimer: We do not employ qualified guides\, leaders
