\n\nEvolving lightweight platform: Building golden paths through continuou
 s developer feedback\nwith Nisal Wickramage\, Senior Consultant\, Thoughtw
orks\n\nGolden paths are one of the defining ideas of platform engineering
. In mature engineering organizations with well understood practices\, the
y reduce cognitive load\, improve consistency\, and enable teams to move f
aster with confidence.\n\nBut what about organizations that are still grow
ing? When products\, architectures\, and engineering practices are evolvin
g rapidly\, defining opinionated golden paths too early can unintentionall
y constrain teams or force platform engineers to continuously chase changi
ng requirements.\n\nThis talk explores a thought experiment: What if\, ins
tead of designing golden paths upfront\, we allowed them to emerge through
continuous feedback from development teams?\n\nNisal will explore a light
weight platform approach built with IAC\, Git\, and CI/CD\, where platform
capabilities are composed from reusable building blocks\, improvements ca
n be rolled out centrally\, and successful patterns gradually evolve into
organizational standards. Rather than predicting every future need\, the p
latform evolves alongside the teams that use it.\n\nWhether you're buildin
g your first internal platform or supporting a growing engineering organiz
ation\, you'll leave with practical ideas for creating platforms that rema
in lightweight today while naturally evolving into the golden paths of tom
orrow.\n\nAbout the speaker\nNisal Wickramage is a developer and senior co
nsultant at Thoughtworks who is passionate about helping engineering teams
deliver software with less complexity. His work focuses on application ar
chitecture\, cloud platforms\, and pragmatic engineering practices that en
able engineering organizations to evolve with confidence.\n\nAgenda\n6:45
