  people going\n\nA lot of women have said they want a space where they can
  actually meet and communicate properly\, so this is a simple BSL social.\
 n\nIt’s a group of women meeting at the bar\, practising British Sign Lang
 uage\, chatting properly\, and spending a couple of hours together.\n\nMos
 t women come on their own. That’s completely normal here and we make sure 
 you don’t feel awkward walking in.\n\nWomen usually range from their 20s t
 hrough to their 60s. It’s normally a mix of new and returning women\, so y
 ou won’t be the only new person there.\n\nIf you’re feeling nervous\, that
 ’s very common. You can message beforehand or on the day and we can help y

 r\nLocation instructions: When you come upstairs into the BFI Bar area\, t
 urn right facing the main bar.\n\nWe sit on the right-hand side near the b
 righter seating area at the windows so everyone can see each other properl
 y when signing and chatting.\n\nAfter 5pm we move over to the sofas and st
 ay there afterwards.\nIf you can’t find the group\, message and someone ca
 n come meet you.\n\nWhat to expect\nSome women already know some BSL\, oth
 ers are completely new. The setup makes it easy to actually practise and c
 ommunicate rather than just sit and watch.\n\nYou can go at your own pace 
 and join in as much or as little as you want.\n\nThe group gradually build
 s signs over time\, so regular attendance helps.\n\nNew women are welcome 
 while the group is still forming\, but sessions will eventually build on p
 revious signs rather than restarting from the beginning each time.\n\nImpo
 rtant\nThis is a female-only lesbian space. That boundary is clear and uph
 eld at events.\n\nHow to attend\nYou must register in advance to attend\nw

 s\n\nL Community is member-funded\n\nThe standard contribution is £13 per 
 month and covers the platform\, events\, moderation\, and safeguarding.\n\
