\n\nCome along on Saturday\, August 1st\, for a coach trip along the East
Sussex coast!\n\nAbout the trip\nEast Sussex is located on the south coast
and is part of the historic county of Sussex. Its origins trace back to t
he ancient kingdom of the South Saxons\, who established themselves there
in the 5th century AD\, after the Romans departed.\n\nIt is renowned for i
ts green hills\, Weald-land\, and charming seaside towns with their fishin
g heritage.\n\nThe towns we will be visiting are:\n\nBexhill-on-Sea\nBexhi
ll-on-Sea offers modern vintage shops\, unique art and music venues\, and
independent cafés and restaurants.\n\nDuring the Norman Conquest of 1066\,
it appears that Bexhill was largely destroyed. In 1804\, defensive Martel
lo towers were constructed along the south coast\, some near Bexhill\, to
repel any French invasion\, and they still stand today.\n\nThe most promin
ent landmark is the De La Warr Pavilion. Built in 1934\, the pavilion is G
rade I listed and situated on the seafront. The building was the result of
an architectural competition.\n\nPevensey Bay\nPevensey Bay is an old fis
hing village founded in the 1600s.\nThe bay is famous as the 1066 landing
site of William the Conqueror and the Norman army.\n\nIt features a quiet
shingle beach and a mix of Edwardian townhouses and beachfront homes. In t
he early 1900s\, the village developed into the holiday resort it is today
.\n\nEastbourne\nEastbourne is a very Victorian seaside resort with a well
-maintained promenade and a restored pier from 1870. It also boasts a 5-mi
le stretch of award-winning beaches.\n\nIt has an art gallery called the T
owner Art Gallery\, which showcases modern British works\, and the Redoubt
Fortress\, built during the Napoleonic Wars\, which houses a military mus
eum.\n\nIt is also known as the sunniest place in the UK.\n\nCoach seating
