SUMMARY:Øyanatt: Evian Christ (UK / Warp Records) + ICR (LIVE)\, Peak Sinne
 r & DJ IBON
LOCATION:The Villa
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 32% · why: lots of
people going\n\nEvian Christ (UK)\nEvian Christ has spent the last decade
carving out one of the most singular spaces in experimental club music. I
nitially finding recognition for his production contributions to Billboard
-topping albums by Kanye West\, Travis Scott and Danny Brown\, and later a
s the founder of the enduringly influential TranceParty series\, the UK ba
sed producer has continually pushed at the boundaries of what contemporary
electronic music is\, can be\, and what it can feel like.\nReleasing key
works through Warp Records\, Christ’s output explores the lingering emotio
nal and cultural potential of trance music\, not merely as escapism or eup
horia\, but as something capable of evoking the full weight of the sublime
. That vision reached its clearest expression on Revanchist (2023)\, a deb
ut album balancing celestial ambience\, intense pressure and ecstatic rele
ase with remarkable emotional depth.\nHis live performances have become kn
own for their overwhelming intensity: emotionally charged\, physically exp
losive and engulfed in blinding strobes\, collapsing walls of smoke and cr
ushing low-end pressure. As a DJ and live performer\, Evian Christ moves f
luidly between techno\, trance\, deconstructed club music and experimental
electronics\, building moments that feel simultaneously euphoric\, violen
t and transcendent. Fragile beauty collides with sensory overload\, creati
ng dancefloors that border on the ecstatic.\n\nIRC (Live)\nBurning lights
floating over a swamp. A cryptic text on a mountain grave. A troll running
frightened by a storm\, glimpsed from afar in flashes of lightning.\nIRC
is a project by Oslo-based artists Ida Rasmussen and Chris Helberg. In the
ir self-titled album\, garbled messages from the past are transmitted thro
ugh a faulty ethernet connection. Fragments of stories are read in the dar
 k. It captures memories of growing up queer and emo in rural Norway. Loggi
ng onto chat rooms late at night\, driving on empty roads\, feeling kind o
f crazy in the woods.\nThe debut album is based on research into Norwegian
folklore. It is shaped by trance music\, hypnotic folk instruments like t
he psalmodikon and the transverse flute\, and something visceral that is d
ifficult to place\, a sound you feel you’ve heard before but can’t remembe
r where.\n\nPeak Sinner (DJ Set)\nErik Spanne AKA Peak Sinner is an Oslo-b
ased music producer whose work has mutated through a series of projects.\n
Through Drippin\, he emerged as a key voice in the experimental club movem
ent of the mid-2010s\, blending rap\, bass music and experimental electron
ics into a sound that earned support from artists\, DJs and listeners worl
dwide.\nAs Onleash\, he pushed into harder club music\, fusing techno's fo
rce with trap-inflected melodies and sharp\, detailed sound design\, drawi
ng support from VTSS\, Juliana Huxtable and Bobby Beethoven\, with work pr
esented at clubs and festivals across Europe and Asia.\nTogether with Norw
 egian artist FAKETHIAS\, Spanne co-founded MASSIVE GAIN\, a record label a
nd collaborative project that treats techno as a vessel for experimentatio
n\, fusing its aesthetics and memetics with an insurgent approach.\nPeak S
inner is his latest project\, reflecting a return to a more instinctive\,
freeform approach\, raw\, immediate and built around punishing percussion
and surgical sound design. His debut EP as Peak Sinner\, released via MASS
IVE GAIN\, was developed in collaboration with visual artist Ilja Karilamp
i\, whose collaged graphics draw on underground and subcultural references
\, with each track receiving its own unique cover.
