SUMMARY:SANCTUM OF SOUND - AUGUST EDITION
LOCATION:MaHalla
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 50% · why: lots of
people going · starting soon\n\nSANCTUM OF SOUND IS A MUSICAL FORUM FOR L
ISTENERS OF AMBIENT\, DEVOTIONAL\, ELECTRONIC\, EXPERIMENTAL AND PSYCHEDEL
IC MUSIC.\n\nCurated and produced by the MaHalla team\, Sanctum of Sound t
akes place on the first Sunday of every month\, transforming MaHalla into
a sanctuary of music and sound for 8 immersive hours. Dedicated to the art
of creation and transmission\, it offers a space for deep listening and s
onic exploration.\n\nThe next edition unfolds on Sunday\, August 2nd from
2 PM to 10 PM\, featuring performances by Cleymoore & Rubi\, Hannes Kretze
 r\, Tonbo & Moriaariava\, Mario Verandi\, and Delta Rain.\n\n\n\n2PM : Del
ta Rain\n\nDelta Rain is a Berlin based sonic project exploring the fragil
e boundary between environmental memory and imagined futures. Blurring fie
ld recordings\, submerged rhythms\, granular textures and slowly shifting
harmonic structures\, each performance unfolds as a temporary ecosystem ra
ther than a sequence of tracks. Drawing from experimental electronics\, du
b aesthetics and contemporary sound art\, DELTA RAIN constructs evolving s
onic environments where acoustic and synthetic elements dissolve into one
another.\n\nSound behaves like weather\, forming\, dispersing and reappear
ing in altered states. Less concerned with genre than with atmosphere\, du
ration and spatial perception\, DELTA RAIN follows a process of slow trans
formation\, where each performance develops its own logic and leaves behin
 d a distinct sonic terrain.\n\n\n3:30PM : Tonbo & Moriaariava\n\nTonbo and
Moriaariava are an ambient/experimental musical duo. Tonbo plays modular
synthesizers and the Bansuri flute\, while Moriaariava performs on the guz
heng (Chinese zither)\, percussion\, and piano. They frequently collaborat
e with the Japanese interdisciplinary art collective NADA.\n\nTogether\, t
hey host immersive\, live improvisation soundscapes set to NADA's hypnotic
\, kaleidoscopic video works and water cymatics.\n\n\n5:30PM : Mario Veran
di\n\nMario Verandi is an argentinean-born composer\, producer and sound a
rtist living in Berlin. His work focus on the use of new technologies as a
n aid to exploring sound\, space and perception. Mario Verandi´s output is
wide-ranging and include electroacoustic and experimental music\, music i
n modern classical and ambient style\, live electronic performances as wel
l as sound installations.\n\nHe has also collaborations with several music
ian and artists. Mario Verandis works have been performed worldwide in eve
nts such as Multiphonies GRM (Paris)\, Donaueschinger Musiktage (Germany)\
, Kontakte Berlin\, MaerzMusik (Berlin) and Festival Futura (France).\n\n\
n7:30PM : Hannes Kretzer\n\nHannes Kretzer explores sound as a reflection
of perception\, shaping and distorting sonic material into immersive\, per
sonal worlds. Influenced by early synthesizer pioneers\, his work moves be
tween meditative ambient and elements of pop\, bringing together contrasti
ng approaches through a focus on dynamics\, evolving structures\, and spat
 ial depth.\n\n\n9PM : Cleymoore & Rubi\n\nCleymoore and Rubi are Berlin-ba
sed artists\, DJs\, producers\, and curators working across electronic mus
ic\, sound art\, visual culture\, and collective listening.\n\nBoth are pa
rt of Rings of Neptune and co-curate Feedback Waves\, a label dedicated to
releasing music on vinyl for the first time\, beginning with a 1995 work
by iconic Japanese artist Palomatic. Cleymoore is also the founder of Plui
e/Noir and produces experimental music as Max Binski\, while Rubi co-runs
Flubi Disks\, produces as part of Flubi Doo\, and curates listening projec
ts including Anchor Point and Musical Autobiographies.\n\nConnected by a s
hared interest in record collecting\, atmosphere\, and the emotional power
of sound\, they will perform a hybrid live set combining selections\, liv
e electronics\, texture\, and improvisation at Sanctum of Sound on August
 2.
