SUMMARY:fin: The Refinery
LOCATION:TBA - Factory\, Hamburg
DESCRIPTION:Saved in Palaner as: saved\n\nPalaner match: 18% · why: lots of
people going\n\nSomewhere between the freight lines and the river’s slow
industrial drift\, a new transmission surfaces.\n\nOn October 19\, an undi
sclosed warehouse space in Hamburg will host the first full articulation o
f Foundation—a project that’s been quietly carving out its own frequency b
eyond the usual circuits of club culture. This isn’t a launch in the tradi
tional sense. It’s more of an activation: a spatial listening experiment b
uilt from steel\, distance\, and duration.\n\nEmerging out of a gap in Iri
sh infrastructure for artist-led experimental electronic work\, Fin’s prac
tice sidesteps the pressure of immediacy and output. Instead\, it leans in
to long-form composition as a kind of resistance—prioritising texture\, na
rrative\, and sustained immersion over peak-time functionality. The result
is a body of work that feels less like a set of tracks and more like a co
ntinuous environment—one that unfolds over hours rather than minutes.\n\nF
or this one-night installation\, that approach is extended into the physic
al. The warehouse becomes a resonant chamber for the project’s core materi
 als: processed field recordings\, metallic abrasion\, low-end pressure\, a
nd the ghost of industrial memory. Drawing on sonic references from dockya
 rds\, train depots\, and post-industrial landscapes\, the performance refr
ames these elements into something closer to emotional architecture than s
ound design.\n\nThere’s a deliberate departure here from the codified expe
ctations of electronic music presentation. No rigid set times\, no clear s
eparation between performer and listener—just a slow recalibration of atte
ntion. In this context\, duration becomes narrative\, and space becomes an
active component of the work.\n\nThe choice of Hamburg feels less inciden
tal than it might first appear. A city shaped by its port history and indu
strial infrastructure\, it mirrors the tonal language of the project itsel
f—weathered\, expansive\, and in a constant state of quiet transformation.
\n\nLocation details will be shared privately on the day of the event. Cap
 acity is limited.
